Buying a Home – What does Contingent Mean?

If you are looking to purchase a new home initially the house will be listed as “Active” then once the seller accepts an offer, it becomes “Contingent”. Contingent means that it’s under contract but certain stipulations have to be met. So all is not lost if you see your dream home and it’s listed as “contingent”.
